Thank you so much for the trip down Memory Lane. I remember walking down Main St. thirty years ago. I have memories of standing outside your store on cold, windy, autumn days and gazing wistfully through the windows at the merchandise displayed there. I am not a jewelry person, but, I was always fascinated by your displays of silverware and crystal. I would dream of the day when I would own my own home and walk into the store to buy my crystal and silver (I even had the pattern Contessa picked out as my silver pattern.) The idea that I would ever leave Gloversville hadn't occurred to me then. On one ocassion, I cast my timidity aside and entered the store. I was treated with curtesy and respect even though it was quite evident that I would not be able to purchase anything. That made a big impression on me. (It would have to been a big deal for me...for me to remember the ocassion 30 years later. Someday I hope to take my son to upstate New York to see where I grew up. I'd like to stop in your shop then...I may even have money in my pocket the next time. ;-) To me, your store has always represented quiet elegance and taste. Again, thanks for the memories. Take care and God Bless, Terry Birch
